Hilber Nelson, MVLA PAC Chair: Keeping Liberty, Keeping Vigilant

Greetings Magic Valley Patriots,

With the celebrations of our nation’s Independence Day behind us, I’d like to encourage you to remain vigilant against the present-day threats, both foreign and domestic, against our God-given liberties — right here in the Magic Valley.

The defense of liberty requires our eternal vigilance. Patriot leader during the American Revolution and Founding Father of our country, Samuel Adams, declared, “The People alone have an incontestable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government and to reform, alter, or totally change the same when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it.”

And as President Ronald Reagan once warned, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”

You may be thinking, as I did after moving to the Magic Valley in 1992, that here in ‘conservative’ Idaho, we are safely immune from becoming the next Commiefornia. (By the way, California turned blue because Republicans turned soft).

Think again.

The picture below of the ‘No Kings’ protest on June 14, 2025, is not from LA, or NYC, but Twin Falls.

As I wrote in my eyewitness report, the endgame of the leaders behind this liberal-backed nationwide protest is to turn every state blue. If you haven’t already, take a few moments to view the links in my report to see which communist groups gave ‘No Kings’ millions to fund some 2,000 protests, plus all the dark money.

Turning the Magic Valley blue is in full swing with the recent arrival of Indivisible, the organizers behind ‘No Kings’, and has an established Twin Falls County Chapter.

Opponents to liberty are not only openly vocal, but some have also turned to making hostile threats against leadership of the Idaho Republican Party. Read Idaho GOP Chairwoman Dorothy Moon’s released statement here. Read firsthand threats from transgender activist Tiffany Starr here.

There’s more. As Rep. David Leavitt (Dist. 25) has reported:

The latest so-called ‘lecture’ presented at the College of Southern Idaho—sponsored by Boise State Public Radio, Mormon Women for Ethical Government (MWEG), and the nonprofit Idaho Solutions—wasn’t journalism, and it certainly wasn’t civic education. It was an ideologically loaded hit piece aimed squarely at Christians who dare to bring their faith into the public square.

MVEG and IS are not above resorting to labeling ‘Christian Nationalists’ as religious extremists.

Then there’s the not-so-conservative voting records (below) of way too many ‘conservative’ Magic Valley legislators during the 2025 legislative session.

Finally, there’s the RINO-fueled Idaho state spending spree, which has nearly doubled in a decade (FY2015 – FY2024) thanks to too many ‘conservative’ legislators rubber stamping appropriation bills. But not ‘The Gang of Eight’ (pictured below), four whom are Magic Valley’s own: Sen. Zuiderveld, Sen. Kohl, Rep. Hostetler, and Rep. Hostetler.
